School Programs

Our Artists in the Schools program brings professional artists into schools across SD68, SD69, and SD79 to teach techniques in various disciplines, including art, dance, music and theatre, and foster creativity in the classroom.

You can also bring your class into the Gallery for a hands-on tour of our current exhibition and an art activity.

We accept bookings throughout the school year, a minimum of two weeks in advance. Please fill out an online booking form and a booking confirmation will be sent to you approximately one week after your request is received.

For cancellations, we require one week’s written notice to cancel a School Program at no charge. A later cancellation fee of $20 will be charged if insufficient notice is given.

Gallery, Museum & Library Visit

Share a bus and bring two classes downtown—one group tours the Gallery tour the other can visit Nanaimo Museum. Both groups can meet at the Vancouver Island Regional Library’s Nanaimo Harbourfront branch for lunch and storytime, and then switch in the afternoon for your Gallery or Museum visit! This option can help you make the most of your class excursions budget.
Gallery and Museum visits are each 1.5 hours in length, and available Tuesday through Friday. To book please contact Nanaimo Art Gallery and the Nanaimo Museum with your preferred time and date.
