Volunteers

Are you interested in joining a creative community? Would you like to build your skills and gain experience at a public art gallery? Our enthusiastic volunteers contribute greatly to the Gallery and are a valued part of our organization.

Volunteer!

The minimum age for volunteering is 15 years of age, and all volunteers must participate in training and orientation, as well as complete a police record check.

Front Desk & Gallery Store

Our store features local artists from across Vancouver Island. Front desk and Gallery Store volunteers help to welcome visitors as well as maintain and organize the store.

Tasks may include:

–          Greeting visitors and processing store purchases using the POS system

–          Processing program registrations and memberships

–          Creating and maintaining store displays

Learning & Engagement Programs

The Gallery offers many children’s classes, art camps, and drop-in programs for all ages. Learning and engagement volunteers work with the staff to support these programs.

Tasks may include:

–          Prepping, setting up, and tidying up supplies

–          Helping to greet children/visitors

–          Assisting children/visitors with art projects

Special Events

Special event volunteers help at various Gallery events throughout the year. These range from exhibition openings and artist talks, to Night Markets, to off-site community events.

Tasks may include:

–          Greeting visitors, checking tickets, and managing line ups

–          Supporting art activity stations

–          Setting up, and taking down supplies

Marketing

There is so much happening at the Gallery and we can always use help to spread information across our community.

Tasks may include:

–          Poster or brochure distribution

–          Stuffing envelopes for mail outs

–          Helping to activate community event booths

–          Administering surveys
