Audie Murray is a multi-disciplinary artist who works with various materials including beadwork, quillwork, textiles, repurposed objects, drawing, and media. She is Michif, raised and working in Regina, Saskatchewan, treaty 4 territory. As the artist explains: “As I was floating in the stars my hair was being braided by old hands, or were they spiders weaving my hair? 

Spider in the Cosmos is inspired by a dream and created as a process of appreciation for this experience.” This artwork was a key element in Pawatamihk, Audie’s 2021 solo exhibition at Nanaimo Art Gallery.
