Join internationally recognized, award-winning artist Katherine Melançon, for a hands-on workshop related to the upcoming exhibition Biophilia. Her installation in the exhibition explores the connection between ferns, coal, and the industrial systems that shape our lives.

During the workshop, Katherine will guide participants through how to learn from ferns. From discussion to drawing and writing exercises, Thinking with Ferns is a starting place for re-imagining our lives. She will unpack the ferns’ relationship to coal, and ultimately capitalism, allowing us to learn about deep time and different ways of being from these ancient plants.
